Aargh!

Ok so my eating has been near perfect on this diet, but here's the issue,  I gained, yes I said gained 2 pounds this weekend. 1 popped up Sunday and 1 today! Is this just a fluctuation or is it truly 2 pounds gained?

There is no way my body gained 2 pounds! So today I am sticking to apples and water to see what happens tomorrow.  I had a definite weight goal for this morning so to see the scale move 2 pounds in the wrong direction has me a bit frustrated and flustered. I tend to fluctutate in mad swings that makes no sense at all but I am never preapred for them and they get me bent all out of shape.

I am going to buy myself a new kitchen scale and a new bathroom scale today during my lunch hour. The ones I have are pre-historic and I am not sure how accurate they are.  Digital-age baby! Gotta get caught up :-)

TGIF!

Woot Woot! I love Friday afternoons! Almost time to go home and do what I want to do with my time.  Except Saturday, we have dance recital tomorrow night cannot wait for that to be OVER!

Doing great, my diet the past 2 days has been flawless, I am actually proud of myself, sweets and bad stuff love me and I love it.  But I am resisting all evils. 

I was at dance dress rehearsal last night until almost 11pm so no exercise.  I did go outside work today and walked for 10 minutes and I am about to do another 10 now.

Bonfire tonight with friends, so I will have to resist, gatherings are rough with the foods, I will get through it tho, have a great weekend!

Happy Thursday!

Well its Thursday anyway.... What a hectic week! Dance, Gymnastics/Dance, Dance and tonight Dance.  This is all for my daughter. Recital is Thursday! Then we get summer break!!  Still though she will have gymnastics and tumbling and cheerleading begins next week. Its always something. I do look forward to cheer since it is literally around the corner from my house versus the usual 15-20 minute drive to get to studios and gyms. 

Eating has been ok but no exercise! How can I? I am running kids from activity to activity all the time. The husband is no help with this, but once football starts in July for my son he will be taking that one on. And health industry folks cannot grasp why so many adutls are fat and "claim" they have no time to exercise! Let's see we get up early in the morning get ready for work, work all day, then go home long enough to either choke down some fast fix dinner or we grab the kids run them for hours to activities and then come home (some to a 9-10pm dinner) then its time to get ready for bed.

Ok I am done venting!

I look forward to Friday as I plan to take a walk and Sunday for a longer walk.

My food today is pretty basic. Green tea for breakfast (not very hungry). 3oz chicken meatloaf with 1 cup cucumbers, a couple melba toast for lunch (Same for dinner but swap cucs for asparagus) a mid day apple as a snack and my late night snack will be some berries or cherries. Oh and Water, water, water...

Starting Over! - Accelerate Day 1

Ugh! I would have been on day 9!!!

I decided to start over. I am trying to complete my MBA and my economics class was ending so I just could not put my full attention on this. I started getting sloppy and with my schedule (BTW I have 2 kids in many activities) meal planning and grocery shopping are low priority.

Also I got that fish oil out of my system, it took days of hurting so bad! So no fish oil this time that really helped mess me up. I have been good with the water intake so I have tested it and know the ropes.

So here I am Day 1 all over again! Biggest issue as far as weighing is being a lady, its a bad week to weigh, ah-hum! no need to elaborate. I did weigh and I was up 3lbs from late last week so I really am clueless what the baseline is. Typically that bad week causes a 7-8lb gain for a few days and then I deflate back to the correct weight.

I have been walking too, we have had stuff and activities so I am trying my best to get that 30 mins in per day but some days are just impossible (for now my daughter's long dance night ends next week for the summer! YEA!).

Today - so far so good. I had a large apple and an Activia yogurt for breakfast. Still need to get my green tea in and need to start drinking my water.

Day 4 -- Fish Oil Continues to torture my stomach

My kids ended their school year yesterday and my now 1st grader got invited to sleep over at this friend's house. He wanted to cry as I was leaving but he remained brave. My daughter was sad and angry that he left her but he stays home when she goes to visit friends, so she had to deal...

 My 8yr old daugther and I went on my evening walk together. It was a slow 20 minute mile pace and I had to stop and wait on her a few times but I enjoyed her company. The 30 minute walk with all breaks included was more like 40-45 minutes. Thank goodness I have a Garmin GPS and can start and stop the timer as needed, otherwise I would have been lost on what I did. (which BTW was 1.5 miles).

Eating was ok yesterday, that fish oil is still in my system and it really just hurts so food was far from my top priority. I did some more research and the stomach pains are severe and the recommendation was to find a lower dose to start with and freeze them and take them with meals. Seems like a lot of work for something I thought I was doing as a simple step to improve my health. I am going to lay off them until this passes, then freeze them and take with meals to see if I continue with the stomach pains, if so then no more fish oil for me. I will just stick to eating fish.

My scale budged about .5lb, I will take it hopefully tomorrow morning I see the full 2nd lb go away.
What a weekend I have, my husband's b-day is today, grad party tomorrow and trying to complete the LAST paper in my Econ class. Got to stay focused so I don't have a food slip trying to navigate everything. I can't wait to complete school, MBA will be mine in 5 more classes, however, that will be early 2013, as my company only pays for 2 classes per calendar year. Oh and I received my long overdue promotion today! Yeah me!

Day 3 - feel good but a little lost

Ok this is my second post today, but I have to get caught up.

Day 2 I did GREAAAT! I was super hungry though.  After dinner I took a fish oil supplement.  Dr. Mike says it is good to eat fish or take the supplement.  So because fish oil is supposed to help with fat burning I decided that was the route for me. 30 minutes later - HORRIBLE stomach pains!!!!  I still got in a 40 minute walk of 2.75 miles despite the cramping stomach. I was not hungry after taking the fish oil.  Oh I was 1 lb down on Day 2.

Day 3 - I feel like I have a bolder stuck in my large intestine, it hurts and has to be that darned fish oil. I read online to either take these with food or freeze them to reduce side effects. I will try to take with food tonight to see if that helps. No weight loss this morning, and thats ok, it could be a no weight loss day or the bolder lodged in my gut is prohibiting me today.  The a.m. hot lemon water is disgusting, but if you gulp it, its over pretty fast.

So far no water today, other than the hot water, also no green tea yet. I am working on it and will get it all in by end of day.

I am eating easy meals right now, but after next Monday I will dive in a little more aggressively. I am working on my MBA and my class ends June 6, so I will have more time.
My first post of my new blog was eaten!!! Ugh. Here we go again!

I started the 17 day diet Tuesday May 31 and I did great. Yes I sound shocked usually I want candy by early evening and fall off the wagon. I did wear my bathing suit for the first time on Monday and was grossed out so my motivation was high.

This diet claims that if you follow the plan to the letter you can lose 10-15 pounds in the first 17 day cycle.  Yes, I know it is probably water weight and the author is up front about the water weight, but it is weight and it is weight your body has been hanging on to.  So get out your life preserver because the dam is about to break!

The diet leads you thru your eating day, there is a 17 day menu right in the book. Its pretty simple actually; a typical day is egg or yogurt and fruit serving and green tea for breakfast. Lunch is chicken, turkey or fish with stir fried veg or salad. Dinner consists of chicken, turkey or fish with cleansing veggies and a cup of green tea. You get a snack yogurt or a fruit (if you snack midday the fruit is good, if you're like me and need the after dinner snack go with veg or yogurt). Fruits are not allowed after 2pm.

I was not perfect Tuesday had Teppanyaki (chicken and veg- No rice) and a couple pieces of sushi for b-day lunch and because it was my b-day I had a few bites of a sampling of desserts my family got me. I passed on the snack since the sushi and the dessert were bad and I had a medium sized salad for dinner to make up for my ills. 

 I signed up on myfitnesspal Tuesday, its a very cool site, glad to have found it. Love the tickers love how it tracks my calories, just what I need, its amazing to enter your foods and see how fast your calories get used up.

The biggest side effect I have had -(I started eating Activia yogurt on Friday) was a bad bout of diarrhea Tuesday. I totally think it was the yogurt but my tummy felt way better afterwards. Oh and how happy I was that it hit while I was at work!! Yeah!! So relieved no one else was in that bathroom and I did not stick around, I don't want to be blamed for that :-)

 Lots of water and green tea to gulp down on this diet, the toilet becomes your friend. I have forgotten the hot lemon water both days, mornings are frantic, but I will try to drink it tomorrow.

Today I was 1 lb down. Yea me.
